The chamber geometry allows for the use of commercially-available transwells, onto which respiratory cells can be cultured.
The QV600 chamber was designed for the culture of cells that require an air/liquid interface. The chamber geometry allows for the use of commercially-available transwells, onto which respiratory cells can be cultured.
Our users have shown that a co-culture of Calu and MRC5 human fibroblasts benefit from the addition of flow to the basal side of the membrane: they saw greater proliferation of Calu cells and the fibroblasts produced more extracellular matrix compared with cells cultured under static conditions.
